The agent package

Download one ZIP from any approved brand and add it to the repository or conversation. It works with Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and any tool that reads project files.

brand-context.md: Colors, type, rules, and marks in plain Markdown, with the revision on top.
tokens.css: CSS custom properties the agent can reference instead of inventing values.
tokens.json: Design-token JSON for build tools and token pipelines.
AGENTS.md: Instructions for agents: use these files, don't invent rules, ask when a detail is missing.

The MCP connection

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard AI tools use to connect to data sources. Connected once, a tool asks iStyleGuide for the context each task needs, so it always works from the current approved revision instead of a file someone attached last quarter.

get_brand_contextThe approved colors, type, and rules relevant to a task, at the current revision.
list_brandsThe brands this connection may read, each with its approved revision.
get_tokensCSS variables, app theme, or token JSON for a brand.

Planned design: read-only access to approved revisions of the brands you choose, granted and revoked per workspace.
